2008 Key Race Details / Information

Welcome to the Keuka Lake Triathlon & Duathlon. This year's event will be a USAT sanctioned race.  This event is produced in cooperation with the help and support from the American Red Cross, Keuka College, and endless volunteers.

THANKS FROM ALL OF US: We wish to thank all who will enter and will compete this year from across the USA and Canada. This year should be a great event and we look forward to having you here to race. The course will be ready for the challenge you bring.

THE RACE DATE/TIME/FIELD: June 8, 2008 at , Keuka College campus. Wetsuits are allowed/encouraged. The typical water temperature can range from 55' to 70' F and has been in the mid 60's the last two years, air temperatures average 55' to 75' F. Race management reserves the right to accept or reject any entry. The recommended age to compete in the short triathlon, intermediate triathlon, and short duathlon is 15 years of age. The required age to compete in the kid's triathlon is between 7-14 years of age. There is a race limit of 600 athletes and the first 500 registered in an adult race with receive a custom logo race hat.

ABOUT THE EVENT: There will be three adult courses to choose from. The short triathlon, intermediate triathlon, and the duathlon. There will be relay teams allowed for each of these three courses. There will also be a kid's triathlon offered. Further descriptions of each course will be forthcoming.

NO RAIN DATE: There is NO rain date, We Go Rain or Shine. In case of inclement weather, management reserves the right to alter/modify the race/course for safety concerns. In the case of a "Natural Disaster"/Local Incident/Terrorist Act, there will be No Refunds of race entry fees. Each athlete must except any such risk of their entry fee paid. There is no complementary race entry to a future race. We pledge to make every effort to produce a fair, safe and exciting event for all. Any decision we make to go forth with the race is based on the overall event safety. Management further reserves the right to reject or accept any race entry. Keuka Lake Triathlon will utilize a "wave" start format.

There are no entry transfers or substitutions for any races.   We will allow race transfers for relay teams.

USA TRIATHLON MEMBERSHIP INFO: If you wish to become a USAT member call 1-800-TRI-1-USA. Processing time is about 2-3 weeks. We strongly urge you to update your membership status ASAP. All info requests should be addressed to the National Office at 1-800-TRI-1USA or via their website at http://www.usatriathlon.org.

RACE ENTRY CONFIRMATION/UPDATES: Any cancelled check will serve as confirmation of race entry and acceptance. All entries will be confirmed on our web site at www.keukalaketri.com. We will not use USPS or email to confirm. Any returned checks will be subject to a $35.00 fee.

REFUND POLICY: No transfers of registrations to other athletes are allowed. Race refunds are allowed only if requested  at least two weeks before the date of event. A $35 processing fee will apply. Within two weeks before the race date there is no refund. However the athlete is allowed to use that registration for another race of lesser or equal value during the 2008 season only for the Score This!!! Multisport Series ONLY. This applies only if the request is made before the race day.

KEUKA LAKE TRIATHLON AWARDS: NO duplication of awards. Ceremony begins approximately 12 Noon with under the Score This!!! Multisport Series tent.
 

 AWARDS: Girt Certificates from Handlebars Cycle Company for the overall male and female in the intermediate ($100) and sprint ($50) tri's. Top 3 Age-Group finish times in intermediate tri, short tri, and duathlon. AGE GROUP AWARDS: Top 3: 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, etc. thru 85+ including Clydesdale/Athena. (divisions subject to change due to entries received).

RELAYS: Top 3 Intermediate Relay, Top 3 Short Relay, Top 3 Duathlon Relay
***Note-Aquabike athletes are not eligible for awards, but do receive all other race amenities
